Nanocellulose, a renewable and biodegradable polymer, is used in a wide range of applications. Particularly, a nanocellulose membrane shows fast and selective water vapor transport properties, enabling to apply for dehumidification process. However, numerous nanocellulose membranes suffer from the trade-off relationship between the dehumidification performance and long-term stability. To address this problem, we here develop the hydrophilic-reinforced nanocellulose membrane, achieving simultaneous enhancement of separation properties and stability. Indeed, the modified nanocellulose membranes exhibit outstanding dehumidification performances overall relative humidity ranges. Various characterizations were conducted to understand what chemical or physical features lead to these improvements. More detail will be presented in this presentation. |
